About Casey

CONNECTED – I’m running for re-election to the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors because I love this community and believe our county is heading in the right direction. As a resident, I focus on improving quality of life—expanding recreational opportunities, enhancing community spaces, and investing in places where families can come together. Strong communities are built through thoughtful leadership and long-term investment.

ADVOCATE for YOUR tax dollars – Respecting taxpayers is a top priority. Under my leadership, the county has lowered its tax levy every year. I bring the same discipline I use in my small business to county government: meeting obligations, planning ahead, and watching the bottom line. I work every day to be responsible with your tax dollars while meeting the needs of our county.

SIX GENERATIONS – I’m the son of Mike and Cathy Callanan, and my family has called Cerro Gordo County home for six generations. Public service and building stronger communities run deep in my roots. My wife, Hunter, and I live in Clear Lake and are actively involved in our community. I’m a graduate of Clear Lake High School, attended North Iowa Area Community College, and earned my degree from Iowa State University.

EXPERIENCE – On the Board, I focus on sound finances and the infrastructure residents rely on every day. Continued investment in secondary roads and strong local infrastructure remains a priority. With property tax reform expected at the Iowa Legislature, my experience ensures Cerro Gordo County has a steady, informed voice.

YEARS of Service – My experience as a business owner shapes my approach: take care of people, plan ahead, and don’t spend money you don’t have. This practical, balanced mindset guides my work every day as your County Supervisor.

I’m proud to serve as your County Supervisor and grateful for your trust. I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue building a strong future for Cerro Gordo County—together.
